Welcome speech of the Vice President of the National Unity Government on 3rd Cabinet Meeting

Duwa Lashi La, the Vice President of the National Unity Government (NUG) delivered a welcome speech at the 3rd Cabinet Meeting, held today.

The Vice President expressed his appreciation for the efforts of all the ministries despite many hardships and challenges. He encouraged each and every staff member who is responsible for different sectors of the National Unity Government to continuously prioritize the goal to build the peaceful and free federal democratic nation that every citizen of Myanmar longs for. It is understood that the people of Myanmar want to uproot the terrorist coup as soon as possible.

To remedy the loss suffered by the people, the only answer is to demolish dictatorship once and for all, and to create a peaceful society.

He also emphasized the importance of the role of civil servants who are leading and participating in the Civil Disobedience Movement (CDM) in resisting the junta. Thus, the NUG needs to focus on finding ways to support those civil servants effectively. Different ministries need to collaborate with relevant organizations to support civilians and the young people (Generation Z) who are resisting the junta through nationwide protests, in order to gain the trust of ethnic people and their leaders who have not yet joined the NUG. As the name of the government is the “National Unity Government”, it is important to have all ethnic people’s unity and their agreement to join the NUG. He stated that it is essential that everyone pays extra attention to the unity of the people and puts in effort to create the peaceful society the people of Myanmar desire by removing the dictatorship.
